Welcome to my site. Hopefully it will be updated soon when I get time. My name is Peter and I live in Chester with my wife and our 3 year old. I do not really have much to put on here so it is really just a dumping ground for stuff I find or like. The main thing I have been working on is a runkeeper plugin for wordpress. Basically you enter wprunkeeper activity=”123456? in [ ] in any post and it will display the activity details from the Runkeeper website. See the plugin page for details and to download the source code.

Runkeeper plugin
After searching the wordpress plugin site and searching the internet I decided to take the plunge and produce my first wordpress plugin. This has been done as a bit of fun in the evening. I am not a programer so i have taught myself everything. As a result this may not be the most efficent or tidy plugin ever made. However, it seems to work for me. It works by getting the runkeeper json feed and then i grab the values that i want to display. I then display the values using similar html and css. Anyway I am releasing the code so that if anyone is interested in using it or would like to improve it they can. Simply download the zip file and unpack it into your wordpress plugin directory. Then activate the plugin via the normal way. When you want to display the activity details in your post just type wprunkeeper activity=”(activityid)” in [ ] The activity id can be got by looking at your runkeeper page. In the url it displays the activity id. Again i can not stress enough that all of this is done in good faith. Please use at your own risk.

Running
I started getting into running while at University. It all started after going to the gym. I realised that the only thing that interested me was the running machine. I used to spend ages on it and then realised that there was a cheaper option. So I started to run around the streets of Middlesbrough. Those of you who know Middlesbrough will understand that that is quite a brave thing to do, but the money saved was well used in the Pub in the evening. I never realy took it very seariuosly untill I was working for Iceland Foods. i was offered the opertunity to run the 2002 London Marathon. My training untill then had really been none but I liked the challange and had always watched it on TV and thought I wish I could run it. So the fun really started as I started training. I completed that marathon in 4 Hours 30 minutes and 52 Seconds. And yes the seconds do count if you are a runner. It was slower than I wanted but I found it so hard work. I have run two more London Marathons since then and have still not managed to break the…
